STEMfestNL has ended

The Technology Education Special Interest Council (TESIC) and the Math-Science Special Interest Council (MSSIC), in partnership with Marine Institute & Memorial University, are excited to announce the 3rd annual Summer Institute of Technology Integration (SITI), STEMfestNL. 

Registration is now open.

We are pleased to offer nearly 60 sessions over the four-day institute, featuring 40 facilitators from across Canada. Before choosing your sessions, please create an account and add a profile picture and bio.

Registration Fee:

Registration fee includes full access to all sessions, facility tours and daily nutrition breaks. 

Newfoundland and Labrador attendees: $100

Out-of-Province attendees: $150

Method of Payment:

Develop the fundamental skills to use Google Apps for Education (GAFE). With a focus on Google Classroom as the main hub for teacher/student interaction, members taking part in this workshop will learn how to connect Google's services to ensure a paperless, organized and streamlined classroom experience. Master the concept of pushbutton assignments, appreciate how GAFE is student centered and social while feeling confident and comfortable with grading and feedback.
 
In this workshop attendees will learn the fundamentals of:
 
• Setting up and using Google Classroom
• Following the Google Classroom assignment flow
• Teacher/student interaction from within GAFE
• Integrating Google Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides, and Drawings with Google Classroom
• Publishing blogs with Blogger
• Creating digital classrooms with Google Sites
• Maintaining a digital portfolio
• Finding and using add-ons like Flubaroo, Doctopus, AutoCrat, and JoeZoo
